Mercury for Brass Quintet, Op. 9, No. 2 includes the “cosmic order” melody presented in Richard’s “Planets for solo horn, Op. 19.” This was completely re-written in the year 2020. The composer said: “When I think of Mercury, I think of a hot gaseous planet with bright coloured toxic clouds. I am sure it is just my imagination . . . “
